Description
Delivers elite nursing care in private residences, ranging from geriatric support to high-level monitoring, to ensure patient safety and dignity at home.
Duties
- Conducting comprehensive health assessments (vital signs, physical examination, health history).
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care plans.
- Administering all types of medications (oral, injections, IV therapy).
- Performing complex wound care, dressing changes, and monitoring healing.
- Managing medical equipment (catheters, oxygen, ostomy bags).
- Educating clients and families on health conditions, self-care, and prevention.
- Monitoring and documenting client progress, reporting changes to the lead nurse/doctor.
- Offering palliative and end-of-life care, focusing on comfort and dignity.
Availability
Requires a flexible schedule including potential night shifts, weekends, and holidays based on patient needs, and travel within a regional area.
Requirements
- A fully qualified and licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution with or without Specialization (ICU, Peadiatrics, Palliative Care etc).
- Registered and in good standing with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (NMCG).
- Completed a certified Nurse Assistant or Homecare Aide training program (NVTI).
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and patience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Minimum of 2-3 years post-registration clinical experience, preferably in a hospital setting (medical-surgical, emergency, or specialty units) or previous homecare experience.
- Experience with chronic disease management, wound care, and medication administration.
